Biostatistician / Statistical Programmer - Preclinical

Description

The Biostatistician / Statistical Programmer is member of preclinical business/product line and plays a lead role in performing statistical programming tasks that are required for nonclinical study data analysis and reporting. The individual works closely with Xybion product development team and customers on multiple projects. The biostatistician needs to understand the nonclinical study design, data analysis, reporting and propose the suitable statistical methodologies that fulfills the customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains statistics programming that is part of the Xybion Gold Standard suite of products
• Deliver statistical expertise and knowledge to internal and external stakeholders
• Responsible for creating statistical program that can analyze, and report information from large databases
• Construct analysis methodologies and perform data analysis of data sets and make a sensible conclusion on the data by developing the data into a statistical report
• Required to develop statistical methods for protocol & study design (e.g., Animal randomization based on multiple parameters, group comparison statistics on toxicology studies
• Ability to create effective visualizations/ graphics and bring new methods to the reporting capabilities very quickly
• Introduction of new technologies including visualization tools
• Nonclinical study data transcription/extraction/conversion from various formats/documents to excel/CSV formats using R
• Mentor and train selected associates within the Statistical Programming group

Qualifications

Work Experience

• Minimum 5-7 years of biostatistics / statistical programming experience in clinical / preclinical data management that includes data analysis and reporting using global or study specific statistical methodologies
• Excellent working knowledge of SAS software and statistics script development in R statistics package
• Highly proficient with using computers and programming languages, as well as general types of software such as spreadsheets and word processors.
• Ability to independently act as the point of contact on the statistical programming and directing the work of one or more programmers
• Familiar with PL/SQL/R script development for data extraction and transformation that are used to analyze data, also familiar with tools like Tibco-Spotfire / Tableau etc.,
• Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of proficiency in English

Technical Knowledge

• Proficiency in programming languages, such as R, Python or Visual Basic, as applicable for statistical programming.
• Knowledge on Oracle database (PL/SQL programming)
• Analyzing information, problem solving, attention to detail and software design

Education Requirements

• Graduate in statistics with 7 years of experience or Master of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy in biostatistics or statistical programming
